Job Interviews

Tips for acing interviews and answer common questions.

First of all. A resume is usually not magical enough to get you a job. An interview is usually meant to assess the candidate in many aspects other than the resume to figure out if you are a good fit for that employer, and there many ways to mess up an interview. Part of it can be related to how you present yourself, which is the easiest thing to fix. Or, maybe it has to do with your traits, characteristics and personality which can make you seem incompatible. And finally, are you eloquent, assertive, self-aware, etc? Don’t fret, learning how to express yourself in an interview is a skill you can develop, but remember, practice makes perfect. Did you apply to a job and later relatized you didn’t want it but receive an invitation to an interview? Use this opportunity to your advantage and give the interview a solid effort, so that you can evaluate yourself after the fact and think about what aspects of the interview need improvement so you can start working on it/them before you land the interview for your dream job.

Having a good interview can developed like many other skills. Just like you should customize every resume to every job you send, so can your interviewing be customized to the field and environment where you seek employment. Are you naturally boisterous and seeking employment in a place where calm seriousness reigns and is appreciated? Are you arriving late to a job interview for work that required rigid timetables? You get the gist. And just like that, there are many other things to consider. Are you trying to become a clerk or salesperson at a store where you have never shopped before and are not very much aware of what they offer? Are you showing up to a healthcare interview with highly inappropriate (eg. dirty) clothes? There is more than way to mess up an interview.
